Im looking for a graphics card that would be compatible with my pc. My computer is Gateway DX4870-UB17. I want to be able to run fps games. like the ghost recon phantom, bioshock infin, and such. in medium settings 1080p or 720 with decent framerates. my only concern is the power supply being 300W. maybe I can upgrade the power supply also. my budget is about 600$. Help, and many thanks.

That budget is too high because if you buy a really nice expensive GPU, then the CPU (i3-2130) will be a major bottleneck to the build. You need to buy something like the EVGA Geforce GTX750Ti and the EVGA 500watt power supply. $160 right there, that's all you need and you will get medium settings 45-60FPS.

i Agree with you sir.
But OP if it is possible just try building a new system (you can sell the old one for extra cash) because soon you will need to change your system to even do medium 1080p (for 720p its really fine)

But first we need to know what motherboard you have:

Install and run cpuz, then under the "mainboard" tab post back with your "manufacturer" and "model".

i think i3 3220 has a 1155pin so his mobo should support

plus i think his system has 6GB ram so no need for an upgrade(but i would recommend that you sell that 2GB stck and get another 4GB one of the same make or specs)

And there shouldnt be any performance difference if he is running a 970 on a PCIe 2.0 assuming he has no 3.0

And this rig would make you get 60 on ultra at 1080p

So if you dont need that you can get a 750ti with the PSU which will run at and the new processor to avoid a bottleneck
which can run everything at medium at 1080p for atleast 3years
Hope this helped

I think I'll just get the 750ti with the power supply, but there are so many different kinds of the 750ti. Which one should I get?
And also, is there anythings that I have to make sure? while installing the power supply and the graphics card? (Ive never done this kind of thing before, but watched alot of youtube videos about it)

Get the EVGA one. I never installed either so I would not know.

Okay, but I've found different kinds of the 750ti. There's one with one fan, and there's one with two. Which one should I get? (Im thinking about etting the 500W supply)
