I tried to partition my macs HDD the other day so I could dual boot Ubuntu onto it.
It doesn't let me exceed over 22gb, My HDD is nearly full but i got Mac OSX re-installed fresh?
I've tried to partition before and my mac shut off mid partitioning. Have I got a corrupt partition?
If I do, how do I fix it?

My mac : Macbook 1,1

what distribution of linux are you using? there are some that will partition your harddrive for you so that you can dual boot both. seems that your a beginner so that is prolly the best option

now is your partition corrupt? if it shut off midway it prolly is. did you backup your data? if so good, reinstall your mac os. then pick linux distribution that has the option to auto-partiotn yoru harddrive for dual boot. pretty sure some one will chime on what what distributions support that. i think linux mint does....

my cd drive doesnt work either, it just spits discs back out. Its a early 2006, ive already tried to make cds.

I don't think that a Linux distribution will auto-partition a Mac disk. I'd be very wary about doing so. Use only the Disk Utility in OS X for this purpose.

Bear in mind that installing Linux, as a dual boot, on a Mac is a little bit more complicated than a PC: http://www.howtogeek.com/187410/how-to-install-and-dual-boot-linux-on-a-mac/
