Been troubleshooting this one on and off for years. Mostly I just never let my system sleep. And that's not healthy. I'll start with my build.

Case: NZXT Zero 2 (7 X Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Blue LED)
Reader: NZXT Aperture M Internal 5.25-Inch Mesh Card Reader (works fine)
Case USB: The USB is plugged into correct headers on the MoBo and works fine.
Front Audio: The front audio jacks are plugged into correct headers on MoBo and work fine.
MoBo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
Boot Drive: Crucial MX100 CT512MX100SSD1 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC
Storage: Western Digital WD Green WD10EARS 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155
Cooler: ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
GPU: SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100370L Radeon R7 265 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Optical: ASUS 24X DVD Burner DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM
PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600 RS-600-AMBA-D3 600W ATX12V V2.3

Bottom Line Up Front this PC does not like to wake up from sleep. I had this problem before I installed the reader, the GPU or the current boot drive. In fact I was still running a "placeholder" CPU because I thought Core I7's would drop in price.

With hibernate running in windows I would get this error if I let it sleep for more than a few minutes:

Your computer can't come out of hibernation
Status 0xc0000411
Info: A fatal error occurred processing the restoration data.
File: \hiberfil.sys

If I disable hibernate from the CMD prompt and try to wake the system, it was just rebooting and I would get the whole "didn't shut down correctly" Wanna boot into safe mode? Want to start Normally? Jazz

Went into the BIOS and checked "suspend to ram" option and it was set to auto. I can disable it and no improvement. Monkeyed with several other setting to no avail and just set them all back the way they were.

Powercfg –energy

Energy efficiency problems were found.

Am I the only one that can't get that to work right? I feel like the slow kid in class for cryin out loud.

I recently recovered from a PSU issue and believe running my PC 24 hours a day without letting it sleep is killing my PSU. (Just ordered a 850W PSU on sale...Brand reliable...5 eggs.) But this is what made me want to get to the bottom of this problem. Don't want this thing running constantly with no rest.

Other thoughts: Temps always run nice and cool, 39c most of the time 42c while gaming. I recently unplugged and re-seated many cables coming from the PSU. This system has always run great since day one over 3 years ago. Only one time it started to get stupid with a loose cable on the PSU. Fixed that and now I want to make it perfect.

Thanks in advance for any help...I'm listening!

Ok I have installed every relevant driver from the ASROCK website and no change. (didn't install the one for the remote...etc)

Hibernate is off. Thus I don't get the "can't come out of hibernate" error anymore.

Ordered EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 220-G2-0850-XR 850W ATX12V
It is in the mail and I just need to wait a couple of weeks.

I was thinking of waiting until I try the new PSU before I update the BIOS. I have always had a healthy respect for the dire warnings about messing with your BIOS if you don't absolutely need to. Ahhh...what the heck...I'll run the windows version of it. What could go wrong?

Ok still here after updating the BIOS. Problem still persists.

Here is a look at my IPGU load line calibration. all settings are default.

Here is a look at suspend to ram settings.

Here is a look at the voltages.

Made suggested changes no improvement. I would like to add that since update to the BIOS that the computer will not reboot automatically when coming out of sleep. It simply spools up the fans and the case light goes solid, but nothing on the monitor. I have waited up to 10 minutes to be sure nothing would come up. No dice. Before It would simply reboot without additional human interface. Now I have to hold the power button.

Disabled the Serial port.

Also found a deep sleep config in the Advanced South Bridge settings. It is set to S-5. Can disable or set to S-4 and S-5.

Don't know if I should change that.

powercfg -devicequery wake_armed lists a few devices like mouse and keyboard mostly. Not sure what that did. Mostly generic information that I have been over several times. Waiting on the new PSU and I'll see if that helps.

It did make a difference. 5 minutes after the screen goes dark I click the mouse and get the PC to respond. The PC simply restarts and acts like it did not properly shut down. I can choose restart normally or use the other options. (like if you held the power button to shut it down)

I have installed the new PSU and have examined every response to my dilemma. I feel like I have exhausted all of my options. (problem with old PSU was simply that the 4-pin connectors on the side case fans had the pins pushed back and was intermittent connection). Now I have a spare PSU for diagnostics in the future.

I have changed settings to allow both mouse and keyboard to wake up the computer from device manager. I have tried every option from the CMD line that has been suggested from links to other solutions.

The fact that the PC behaves differently when i change settings in the bios makes me believe it is a problem with the board itself. Too late for an RMA.

The problem of not sleeping properly is not a game breaker for me. My PC has been like this from day one when I built it some years ago. I'll just deal with it until my next build.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this endeavor. I consider the matter closed.
