Maybe someone has some ideas I can try before I haul this over to the local tech shop.

Upgraded my GPU and RAM, but am having trouble getting it all running again.

The parts:
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V Pro 1155 socket
CPU: Intel i5-3570K
PSU: Corsair HX 850W CMPSU-850HX

Old RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
New RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR3 1866MHz

Old GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB DDR5
New GPU: ASUS Strix GTX970 4GB DDR5

When I power on, I don't get any kind of beep, nor do I have any display. I uninstalled all my AMD drivers before taking out the card, but other than that, I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated and I'll provide any info I can. Many thanks.

Solution
I would have done a two-step upgrade - choosing to switch the RAM first, then the GPU....Take out the GPU, and try booting with just the new RAM in. You might have to modify the RAM setting in the BIOS (timing, frequency, voltage, etc...). Make sure you can boot Windows.

Next, reboot, go into the BIOS, change from onboard graphics to PCIe, power down, and install the GPU - make sure all power connections are seated properly. Switch the monitor from the onboard to GPU and reboot.
