how to update bios ASUS P5P43TD PRO with Win7

Need to update Bios in hopes of adding memory, on a system running Win7 Pro.
Asus P5P43TD Pro motherboard running Win7 Pro 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00Ghz running at 1333Mghz
WB160UB2G7 STT D3 1600 2G/128x8 CL7 kit installed running 1333Mghz.

According to the specs, it can accept 16GB RAM.

A BIOS upgrade won't change that.

The vender list from ASUS for this motherboard is out of date with current vender memory part or item numbers. have bought crucial, super talent and Kinston and none have worked. all settings in bios are auto no overclocking, oddly though in checking chipset on sticks according to ASUS what I'm using that works should not. 128x8 ???
