Hi,

I'm having heat issues with a newly installed R9 290 gpu. It runs around 90 degrees within 10 minutes or less of starting up WoW, which I run on "Good" settings. I have the NZXT H440 Silent Case which doesn't have the best airflow however I have enough fans to compensate--3x120mm Top, 1x140 Back, x61 Kraken with 2x140 Front. I was wondering if swapping the Kraken to the top might help cool the entire system better, as it would be directly above it. What do you think?

Also, I run the fans at around 55% roughly 1200 rpm. Internal temp is usually 30-35 degrees. Also running dual 24" monitors.

Cheers!

The R9 series runs hot. Especially the 290s, AMD says that 95 degrees is the point at which it will start throttling itself to be cooler. There's nothing wrong with it running at 90 degrees. As long as the rest of the components (CPU, HDDs) are at a good temperature, this is exactly the temperature that a 290 should be at.
