How do I copy text messages to my computer for free

Is there a free way to save my text messages to my computer from an Iphone 4/4s? I have a possible court case and that is proof to back up my testimony.

Only way I know of it with an sd card which you cant do on an iphone. A quick google search results in several programs that say they can transfer to itunes but I do not know if they work or are trustworthy. Can you not just use the text messages off of your phone?

Phone was cut off by EX and stole everything in the house. The ones I saw for use with Itunes are for android phones but anything is worth a shot. Thanks for your help

Sorry I couldnt help more but if you don't have the phone I dont think its going to be easy to get the messages, you might be able to get them from your service provider as its for a court case but I'm not sure on that. Good Luck with your case.
