Custom build problems slow, Windows 7 errors. Software or Hardware problem?

Built a computer a while back and have been having issues with it. All sorts really. Lately it's been reacting slowly and my new Seagate HD doesn't show up anywhere on computer. Used to when I first installed. And it seems to run hot even though I have a Noctua U14S cpu cooler on it. I have reinstalled Windows 7 five times, done error checks. But TBH I don't know what all that stuff means. I'm a noob who can basically uninstall a program from windows and that's it. Hired a guy to put the computer together originally. Oh and wireless keyboard and mouse lag like crazy sometimes. They are Logitech anywhere mouse, and wave keyboard.

Kingston Fury Blue 8gb
WD-550gb Black operating systerm
Lacie 1tb-Music drive
Seagate 3tb- backup drive(doesn't register)
1tb -Lifestudio external
1100 PSU-Don't know name was given to me by friend generic though
Nvidia GTX-620 2tb(getting AMD Sapphire R9 290x OC 4gb card it's shipped already waiting)

Also had issues with drivers on the system. Payed for some program(don't remember what) that somebody recommended to update the drivers for me cause I couldn't find them myself and frankly don't have the time.

Any Suggestions? I know it's not real clear but I'm a noob who needs a powerful cheap computer that works to record music on and promote, video's, etc. Any techs in Aurora, Il that you can recommend? Do I need to go into the Bios and change anything cause this is a custom build? Thanks for reading this BTW.
