I am frustrated beyond belief.

About a week ago I did a windows repair due to occasional error screens and my USB loosing power frequently. After windows 7 repair everything was going fine then all the sudden mouse and keyboard freeze.

My keyboard would work 10 seconds after entering my password where windows would load up, then my mouse freezes and my keyboard looses all power. Even though the mouse has power the cursor is frozen with the "loading" icon. When this happens I was unable to do anything but a hard reset.

After trouble shooting what I could I called ASUS tech support thinking it was my motherboard. The tech at ASUS had me do a bunch of troubleshooting over the phone and when we exhausted all possibilities he came to the conclusion it was a defective motherboard.

After 5 days for ASUS warranty dept. to get my warranty processed with no clear timeline on how long it would take to have my motherboard fixed and back in my hands I decided to just buy another one.

I installed the motherboard without a hitch. Fired it up, did a few updates, then played a game for a few hours. No problems AT ALL.

Logged off the game, noticed the windows update icon. It said 160 updates needed. Waited about 15 minutes and a series of restarts then voila. Mouse/Keyboard freeze is back.

I have no idea what to do. The only thing that worked from now and a week ago where I had a fully functioning mouse/keyboard was replacing that MoBo. I was able to run the comp normally until I installed windows updates. Now, unless I change the MoBo out again I cannot do anything in normal mode. The Mouse & Keyboard do work in Windows safe mode, but what good is it if I cannot run windows repair or any other disks for that matter?

----

I wanted to ad that since I posted this I loaded windows and selected one of the other accounts. I am able to log and with full mouse and keyboard functions. It's something the main account that's knocking them both out.

I did a system restore and followed your instructions. Download starts but when I try to run the program nothing happens. I think I am going to do a fresh install.
