UPDATE 2: still no luck , happens on every boot now, anyone have a clue what it is?

UPDATE (Below in thread too) : PC turns on, then off for 2 seconds, then on again when booting now, why??!!

I was overclocking my CPU, all was fine, i hadn't even reached the turbo frequency yet (was at 4.00GHZ) and the voltage was a small increase to 1.2V , now , as the title states, although I can access windows, it fails stress (prime 95) tests and I cannot access BIOS in order to fix the issue! I have never heard of this issue before, windows but no BIOS?

Can ANYONE help me? Thank you in advance :)

Specs:

Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard
AMD FX6300 CPU - Usually 3.5ghz with 4.1 turbo
8GB Corsair vengence pro @ 1866mhz
MSI GTX760 4GB Gpu
Cooler master G750m Modular power supply <---- The problems origin?

Initially this was nothing, black screen that would not budge, I have literally just reset my CMOS, now I can enter windows, but whilst it is booting it still turns on all my lights / fans, then turns them off, then all back on again then boots. Any idea what on earth is happening?

*UPDATE my bad here, I mean now it can boot BIOS (it could always boot windows) so I am wondering what went wrong as i really want to overlock , didnt spend £100 on a kraken for nothing! :)

Thank you for such a quick reply! :)

Are you able to adjust your settings with the Gigabyte 'Easy Tune6' utility? I do not have experience with this program, so it's jsut a guess! :p

Edit: Just saw your update, are you saying that it is fixed now?

Good question there, if it happens again I may give that a shot, now I know restting CMOS fixed it at least I know it isn't hardware related!
So yep, everything is alive again , BUT do you have a clue what happened? all I did was a tiny OC to the CPU, mobo not touched! Thanks again for being speedy :)

You're welcome for being speedy! :D
I'm not quite sure what happened, but computers can be weird sometimes.
Maybe someone who knows the inner workings of each and every little component on a motherboard could tell you more, but unfortunately I don't and I can't.

Glad I could sort of help. :)

UPDATE: I have tried to overclock just to 3.6ghz to see what the hell is happening , when switching on my pc goes on with all lights, then off for 2 seconds, then boots again normally, so for some reason there is this 2 second dead period when switching on, only when using this teeny OC!

Can anyone tell me what this is? MOBO? CPU? Illuminati?

Try downloading some of the utilities from Gigabyte, there should be one where you can view your OC or BIOS settings in Windows, view them and see if your BIOS isn't underclocking the CPU for some reason.

Good plan I must admit, I will do that and let you know, even weirder it doesn't do this on every boot. urgh. Will update if all is working well now or if that throws anything up!

hmmm yes it appears to , i am now OC'D to 3.7 ghz, and I CANNOT access bios again! But I have just flashed my bios and whole switching on / off then on problem is gone, I am really really stumped for what is causing the issue!! :s

* ignore that! I haven't even OC'D i forgot to save it :') but all power saving modes are disabled, so one of these settings must be causing it?

I think it is my RAM that is faulty! but both sticks  the problem persists no matter which is left in / in which channel , BUT when I turn down my ram from its STOCK 1800mhz to 1300mhz it no longer does this weird start up! so it is either ram or MOBO, will update when I know for anyone else with this problem :)
