hi, i have an MSI a55m e33 mobo, with a6-5400k apu, 4 gig kingston 1066 memory, 500gig WD hd and a 600w Rise psu. and windows 7 32bit OS.
my problem is that when i played either dota 2 or mercenary online. my pc suddenly restarts. i have reformatted it already. The memory is new, i recently buy. the one came with it during purchase i had set aside for now, thinking it was the culprit. but the problem still persist. ive done sfc /scannow and let it finished and reboot then play the game. but still the pc suddenly restarts . i hope you guys can help me with this, i feel im just spending yet still on this problem.

Solution
Hard to say without swapping parts. I would have said that's the power supply, but since it's the same with a different one... Temperatures are OK... Motherboard or CPU? Is the PC or are the components under warranty?

thanks. then il just get back here if its not the psu (or the outcome). but anyway if not the psu then its the mobo. at first i dont suspect the psu coz this pc is new but it seem i have to try your suggestion.

i was thinkin of that. its just that my pc is inside on a box. it's on a coin triggered timer (electronic parts) . its hard to dismantle from the box. the components are fixed. but i could do it. i must spare time. its delicate coz of the wirings.

i was wondering coz i played or test recently offline games. call of duty black ops and prototype 2 but it doesnt restart. these games seem heavy that lags a bit. but with dota , seems after 3 minutes when the game starts the restarting occur.

[[may i ask what software can i use for that. < for image>]]]]

. because this one are clones using acronis. i forgot which one is the originally formatted and which one is the clone. but the other pc seem to have no problem. so that could be the originally fomatted one. this is the clone. .....

[the temperature is around 58*c right after sudden restart. ] i emailed msi. they suggested to update to the latest bios and flash using m flash, not the live update or windows mode. then i did as msi said. after it. clear the cmos and unplug the power cord for a while. then i get a spare harddisk. delete all partitions. (to make sure that no mbr virus) and create just one and then format and setup os using the same dvd used in partitioning . install drivers using dvd. put the game and dx10 then test. still the same. restarts when playing dota 2.
psu new.
memory new.
hard disk.. a tested one in good condition.
leaves me to suspect just 3, the mobo, the apu and game compatability issue. but i found none, i google for compatability issue of apu and hd7540 but none. im really thinking its either the mobo or apu. .... but it dont restart when i play offline games... what u think mobo or apu. im still suspecting both.

...

well i could test the apu by inserting it on another mobo. but as an electronics tech also i was thinking what if the resistance on the pins of the apu have been changed by the bad mobo... this could harm the good mobo. so im not sacrificing. the same if i would insert a good apu on the suspected mobo... im just afraid that things mess up or the other pc without a problem could suddenly get problematic. what you suggest. im open to opinions.

i recently downloaded it from steam and it dont happened when it is played on other pc. what should i do man? should i insert this apu to other mobo to test it ? what if it could damage the good mobo. Im 100% sure now that its just between the mobo and apu.

not a specific game really. it also happens when i play mercenary online and crossfire. mercenary online during the game. crossfire while exiting, it restarts. but it takes time. unlike dota2 wherein it cant reach 3 minutes, it'll restart.
by the way, heres the latest of what i do. im downloading diagnostic software such as cpu z, gpu z, passmark burnin. but while downloading, it restarts......
what could be a good diagnostic software for this.... id like if there be any network stress tester.
