Actually MSI makes pretty good solid boards from what I been reading lately. I believe the MSI Z97 gaming ones are on par with Gigabyte. I am still using my Z77 Gigabyte UD5H, so I can't personally say anything on that front. I prefer gigabyte as well though.
 


The Z97 motherboards by MSI are pretty decent but I prefer ASUS overall because of their customer support haha.
