Will my computer even survive upon downloading this?

I want to download DOTA 2 for my computer, because I think I may have a chance of getting into the championship and winning the multi-million dollar prize (not trying to be cocky, but I suppose I have a pretty good chance).

Here are my specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz

2.1 GB RAM

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit

35.4 GB Free Disk Space

My question more specifically is, will my computer lag after I download this game? It will take up about 1/4 of my current space. The only "big" game I run now is Hearthstone by Blizzard. Thanks for the contributions in advance.

Unless you have some sort of video card that's decent enough, then Dota will pose a serious problem to your computer. It'll most likely barely run at all.

RAM is also an issue. Source Engine games typically eat up about 700MB when in session.

I almost chocked at the "simple enough" part.

I'm almost certain this is a troll attempt but just in case it isn't:

Play-ability will depend on what graphics card you have. Even then chances of you playing competitively are very slim because of low frame rates.

In my experience Dota 2 requires a fast dual core (3Ghz intel or 4ghz amd) 3gb of ram and an HD4600 / Radeon 240/Geforce gt 430 OR EQUVALENT to run

I have recommended everything except dedicated video and a good CPU.

Minimum requirements (according to canyourunit.com) are a 3 GHz Pentium 4, 1-2 GB RAM, Windows XP or newer, and a DirectX 9 compatible video card with 128 MB RAM and Shader Model 2.0 support. The game might run, but at low settings.

I would guess that you have a laptop judging by the CPU you have (the Dell Latitude D830 I'm typing this on right now has the same processor), so I would be a bit concerned about running that game on it. Laptop video cards from that generation were mediocre unless you payed a lot of money.

I have a Dell Latitude D630C, so yeah you were close. And you are right about the video card. I only have 128/256 dedicated video for this game (I use an online program to see if it would run.)

I edited it to get my true point across. What is so hard about the game specifically (asking seriously)?

Oh yeah, I have a good idea of how that would run. My D830 has a (very) slightly more powerful version of the graphics chip in your D630C. Nvidia's Quadro NVS series chips don't do games too well and run a bit hot. Your laptop has the NVS 135M, and mine has the NVS 140M.

Your laptop should be able to handle 4 GB of RAM if you can find the memory cheap. In fact, Dell says it can handle 8 GB with 64-bit Windows.

Welp, if I don't try I can't succeed. Thanks.
