I just built my first computer since high school and I am surprised at how much I forgot. After putting everything together I found that it started up but had no display. I tried both HDMI and RGB but no luck. I removed the RAM but got no beep. I reseated everything but it still doesn't work. I am going to test my motherboard in another computer but I have to wait to get access to it.

Specs:

ASRock Z97M Pro4 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I54690

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

APEVIA Black / Blue SECC Steel / Aluminum X-MASTER-BL/500 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

Solution
If no beeps when starting with only CPU and CPU fan installed, and the CPU fan is spinning, then it's either the board or the CPU.
According to ASRock, the CPU is supported by any BIOS version, so I it might be a board issue.

I figured that the board was the problem. All my parts are compatible so it must be the board.
