Hey so here's whats happening, i'm going to be switching out my AMD Cpu and Mobo for a Intel setup and i'm going to have to do a clean install of windows 8/8.1.

But the problem is i bought my computer prebuilt from newegg.com and the way they had windows 8 setup on there is i believe it was preinstalled and the key/activation code was on a little sticker on the side of my case. Considering i don't have a Windows CD or anything like that will I most likely have to drop another 100$ on buying a hardcopy of windows 8.1?

Solution
That copy of Win8 is bound to the motherboard according to the EULA for that license of Windows 8. So yes you will need to buy a copy of Windows if you plan on using another motherboard.
