I would recommend an I5 4690 (K or not) or if you are on a tighter budget, get an either an FX-6350 or 8350 :) I would upgrade, it will make a huge difference with a powerful card like the 770

Could you give me a range of huge difference? This is my first build PC and my first upgrade and I already have to re-wire the majority of the computer and last time I did two of my front USB ports stopped working. By difference do you mean FPS wise? Or some other measure, and if I don't get a new processor will it even make a significant enough difference from my old card to even upgrade

I'm talking FPS difference, not just your averages but your minimum too. That CPU will severely bottleneck the GTX 770, it will even bottleneck a 760.... I've used a friends athlon 740k with an HD7850 and it was awful, FPS drops everywhere, couldn't sustain a constant 60 in BF3. However once they upgraded to an 8350, the gameplay was butter smooth, 60 fps constant...

I'm already getting the power supply and card for a Christmas gift I have a 770k and it's also a quad core will that make a difference I don't have the 100$ to shell out on a new processor should I even get the card? Is it even worth it without the processor upgrade?

UHHHHHH I can't just build a new PC is there any other card that I could get that wouldn't bottleneck on my PC?

Oh and thanks for tolerating any complaint I might have gone on about also thanks for all the help you have provided

Also for a new motherboard what would you recommend? *Cheapest possible* *Extra Graphics Card Slot*

If you don't want to be bottlenecked, go for a GTX 760, however that's only a 10-20% increase in performance.
I would reccomend getting the 770 and the PSU now, then later getting a new motherboard and CPU :)

Yeah, you should see around 50-60 fps :)
