So i'm currently building my first computer. I did much research prior to building and i bought all compatible parts. As i built my pc i got an error on the motherboard "FE" this error was not in the manual. I tried reseating the RAM on the motherboard and that did not help. So from this point i thought my RAM was defective so i got an RMA for it and i sent it back. The funny thing is that when i took out the RAM i still got the same error code which leads me to believe that well... maybe my motherboard is defective? Please i need help.

FE can be the same as FF and 00
Those early codes, before RAM.
Best to Start from bios flashing by programmer.
Alter: use older CPU and try to boot- if boot: update bios with special asus_bios_updater, then you will be able to use any CPU.

I still get the FE error code even when my RAM is not installed. And in the Asus manual the error code for not installed RAM is 55 which is what i'm suppose to be getting but i'm not which makes me confused on what the real issue really is here.

Yes i've tried clearing the cmos. I ended up calling Asus for motherboard support and they said that it can be one of three things which is bent cpu socket pins, RAM error, or the motherboard not being installed to standoffs to the case. MY case comes pre-installed with standoffs so that cant be the issue. I even tested it outside the case on its box and i still get the FE error. I checked the cpu socket and there were no bent pins. This leads me to believe that it has to be the RAM but its suppose to be a different error code since the RAM is currently not installed error 55 is for not installed RAM which its suppose to be error 55 but its not.

When my Replacement RAM comes in and it still doesent work i guess i'm going to RMA the motherboard for replacement since from that point it has to be the motherboard.

I had the same problem as you guys, and I looked at this thread before i got it fixed, and the problem for me was that the RAM wasn't seated correctly. For me it would snap into the port but the error only went away when I pushed the ram until it snapped in on its own. Hope it helped you guys because it solved my problem

Thank you very much. This was my problem. I was snapping it manually instead of pushing hard enough for it to snap on its own
