I have been using this adapter for over a year. Today my PC randomly dropped connection but did not display "Limited Access" or outright no connection on the Wifi status icon in the icon tray; in fact, it showed I had a perfect 5/5 wireless bars despite not actually having internet.

So I restarted my PC and now Windows won't recognize it. I unplug it and Windows makes the sound to signify you have unplugged something from the USB port; I plug it in, and instead of making the noise to signify Windows recognizing the device, it makes some weird noise I've never heard, which I assume means Windows is telling me it cannot recognize the device.

I have an older USB wireless adapter that I plugged in which works fine. I have tried three different USB ports and nothing works. I have logged off multiple times and restarted my PC multiple times. I have no idea what the issue is. I didn't change anything, as far as I'm concerned this issue appeared randomly.

What can I do to troubleshoot this issue? It's quite an odd problem to have considering my other adapter works fine.
