So recently I got myself a pny 120gb ssd. And I wiped my 1tb segate hdd.
I then installed Windows 8.1 64bit onto the ssd from my dvd drive. After the install I get to the desktop as usual. I can restart it here no problem and it will reboot fine. If I install steam skype or any normal programs such as those its still fine. But after installing chipset drivers or Video card drivers it will ask me to restart. Once I restart the windows 8 logo loading screen will pop up and load for a couple seconds. Then it will boot to a screen that is the color of the color I selected in the installation of 8.1. And there will be nothing there just a colored screen.

I dont know how to fix this and I tried looking for it on other places on the internet and couldn't find what I thought was related to me.

Note: Later to see if it was the ssd. I removed it, installed windows 8.1 back onto the HDD and after the installation if I install any drivers is goes to the colored screen.

Solution
Verify that you have the latest drivers from the motherboard vendor website. Sounds like you have something that isn't 8.1 compatible. If you have all the most current drivers, then you will have to slowly install drivers one at a time, through device manager with a reboot in between until you find out what is causing your problem.
