About 3 months ago I bought a "high end" gaming laptop. It turned out to be a total ripoff since it ran on integrated graphics. Anyway, I was traveling in the car and playing watchdogs and ac4 on it. It worked fine on my desk but when I was in the car I got around 1 frame per MINUTE (only while gaming). There was also a strange crackling sound coming out of it(Again, only while gaming). It did the same thing on a wobbly table. When I got to a desk however, It worked normally again.

I have returned that laptop and built my own PC instead. The PC is on my desk. From time to time it does what the laptop did in the car but to a much lower extent. it seems to me that this problem is caused by vibrations. My PC has 8 case fans so yea... One of the fans is mounted on my hard drive cage which holds an SSD and an HDD.

I am almost certain that the vibrations are the problem and suspect that they are effecting the HDD. Would that cause the crackling sounds and the extreme lag I am experiencing? I currently do not have a graphics card for my PC but will get one in a few days.

What should I do? Wait for the graphics card and see if that solves it, or move the HDD to a cage that does not have a fan on it? Do you have any other suggestions?

THANK YOU!

depends on what hardware you have I know I can play what ever game I like with my GPU fan on 35% and all my other fans disconnected and it takes hours to overheat but others might be a few mins.

keep your cpu fan plugged in and limit your fan speed on your gpu and disconnect the rest.

if you have an I5 or better and a 680 or 280X or better do one at a time as it may overheat and I don't want you to damage our hardware.
