How well does my rig keep up against top of the line gpu?

I have a 4790k with 760 in sli, i want to know how do they compare against 970, 290x, 780ti and 980, I saw benchmarks and in theory i am on par with the 780ti and above it on some games

I would agree, games that support SLI should give performance somewhere around gtx 780 - 780ti. The biggest issue you may have is 2GB of Vram, but I think you got a couple years before it becomes a problem

Thanks man, I have 4gb versions which are better at higher resolutions so I should be able to play 1440p fine
