Hi all,

This is my first build, and I have a few questions concerning the PSU and custom cables.
Before I go on about anything, here are my components for my build.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
NZXT Kraken X61 106.1 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (x4)
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (x2)
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Super-clocked ACX 2.0 Video Card (SLI)
Corsair 760T White ATX Full Tower Case
Corsair 860W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Corsair Air Series White 2 pack 52.2 CFM 120mm Fan
Corsair Static Pressure White 2 pack 49.5 CFM 140mm Fans
NZXT Sentry Mix 2 Fan Controller

If you haven't noticed already, this build is for photoshop and graphic work, and some gaming.

Anyways, I was planning on getting WHITE custom sleeved cables for this particular build, since I am trying to follow a theme of white, blue, and black (I'm painting both of my GPUs white!) and I was a bit confused on which to buy from Corsair's website (sorry I'm a newbie to this)

I did some research and learned that there are things called "pin" connectors that you can plug into the motherboard and GPU to power them. I also found out there are things called 6-pins and 8-pins, 12-pins, and ATX cords or something. But I seriously am not understanding this at all, and would appreciate if someone clarified this for me.

I would also like it if you could tell me which packs are compatible with my build. I don't know if I need to buy another set of cables for my SLI GTX 970's and my 4 SSD/2 HDD's...

Thanks THW community!

Basically the cable packs that you buy will fit any psu. The 6 and 8 pin is what comes from the psu and plugs into the graphics cars, my psu comes with a 8 pin, where the 2 pins are detachable. My gpu only uses the 6 pin. Those cable packs the Krells gave will be more than enough for what you plan on building.

The GPU I'm using has 12 pins (6pins x2) available, so which ones do I use then? Do I use all 12? 6?
