Phillip Corcoran :
You shouldn't be messing with mobo jumpers anyway while the PC is powered on.
It's an excellent way to cause a live short and kill a component or two.
Here are the steps I took:
1. Removed side panel of PC (Dell Optiplex 330 Series) (Computer is also off)
2. Found the Jumper that was labled CM Clear
3. Lifted it up
4.powered computer on
5.computer loaded and said Password Disabled in the top corner of the screen
6. Placed the Jumper back where I found it.
7. Computer started to perform oddly (things wouldn't load, beeping sound, etc.)
8.Powered down computer
9.Monitor goes off, but CPU is still on. Fan is moving, and the power light up front is blinking.
10. Hit power button to kill power, doesn't kill power.
11. Removed power cord to kill power
12. Attempted to turn computer on after 10seconds
13. Computer is not turning on. It doesn't receive any power. Its like hitting the power button when the computer is disconnected from everything, you push it it, and nothing happens.
14. Remove Jumper from spot
15. Attempt to turn on power, power works.
