My gpu has a 8 and a 6 pin connector do I need to use both of them? Or is the 8pin connector enough?

My gpu is the GTX 970 MSI Gaming version
MY psu is a Coolermaster 600 W psu that has 2 6 pin connectors 2 extra connectors to make it in total of 8.

Should I use the 6 Pin to 8 pin converter I got togheter with my GPU,
or use the 6+2 pin connector?

So 6+2 or 6 to 8? what one is better?

Solution
Avoid using converters, they are designed to allow cards to run on PSUs that werent designed to support them.
They can be used for short term power, but for a sustained system use the PCI cables directly from the PSU.
