I'm hoping the smart people here can help me with a video card problem? I built a new gaming computer recently but when I install my graphics card the computer won't start. There are lights on the MB and on the graphics card but no fans and no boot. Once I remove the GPU and connect the monitor to the on-board graphics via the HDMI cable everything works fine. I've updated all the drivers and MB Bios and still no luck. I've tried another older video card, a Asus GTX 660 TI and i get the same problem. Both video cards worked in my old computer. Any suggests and help is welcome. Thanks JT

Here are my computer spec:
Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
I5 4590 (Intel Iris and HD Graphics Driver ver 15.36.7.64.3960)
Ausus Z97-A MB (BIOS ver 20.12)
16GB Crucial Ballistix Ram 2-4GB Sport DDR3 1600
Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB GDDR5
(2) Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-7TE120BW)
EVGA SuperNOVA 750G1 750W ATX12V Power Supply 120-G1-0750-XR
Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Mid Tower Gaming Case

Solution
Contact the ASUS, ask for help or RMA , the problem maybe from the MB, because you did update the BIOS, driver, iGPU works, and try other pcie slot that doesn't work either, but the GPUs work in other PC.
I will close other thread.

Do you try the GPU in other pcie slot? Like the 2nd one or even the 3rd one. Maybe the 1st pcie slot is broken or dead, because it does happen sometime. Also how about the newer intel chipset driver from intel download center.

If the GPU works fine in the 2nd pcie slot, then RMA the motherboard. If it doesn't work then maybe something else.
