Hi, not sure if this is the right place that I should be posting this. I recently built a PC myself and I don't know what I did wrong.

Anyway, when I first put it all together, I got 4 long beeps. I turned it off, had a look and put everything together again. Then I got no beeps and a few minutes I left it on.

Restarted it again and got 5 long beeps when I was trying to install the OS. So I turned it off, took it all out the case, and tried again.

I tried again and now this time, I got 5 long beeps followed by one short beep.

Not sure what on earth is going on. The motherboard I have is the ASRock Extreme4 X99 with i7 5820k, 4x4GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance in A1, B1, C1 and D1. GPU I have is GTX 780 connected in the PCIE 3 slot.

Thanks for the help.

Hello... 1) try booting first with a minimum of memory sticks installed and without your Video card... Use onboard Video if you have the option... AND I see you don't have the option B (
2) Look on your BOX for your MB... What Bios version does it say is installed? There will be a small sticker on the side of it...You might not have the right BIO's installed to see your current CPU Model... AND once agian I see there should not be problem here... As there are no other BIO's updates for your MB... B (
3) Do you have your CPU Fan connected to the CPU/FAN connector on your MB?

I have done the following now:

-Remove GPU
-Remove all RAM cards except one and test. Still got same beep code (5 long 1 short)
-Try a different RAM card in the same RAM slot.
-Try a different RAM in a different slot.

All of these got me the same beep code.
