Build:
Asus Z87-A mobo
Intel i5-4590
Team Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Corsair CX500M psu
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Antec GX500 case

So the problem in a nutshell is that while trying to bench the system I keep getting a steady red cpu led on the board, nothing shows up on the monitor, and I get no beeps whatsoever.

I have the 24 and 8 pin power connected. I have the ram installed and I've tried 1, 2, and no sticks with no change. I have the processor and fan installed with fan power connected. After multiple checks of the cpu pins i can see nothing the matter (even used an mf glass to check really close). I tested the psu independent of everything else and it seems fine. I'm using the case buttons for pwr and reset if that makes a difference.

I get a green power led when the psu switches on and the cpu fan spins fast and quiet when I try to boot up. I've been troubleshooting as best i can but I'm out of ideas. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

It's entirely possible that it needs to be updated, but how would i go about doing that? I'm getting no video output and no indication that post is even happening.

the Z87-A doesn't have the BIOS Flashback feature, though. According to the FAQ on asus' website, I have to be able to enter the BIOS to update from a flash drive, but the error I'm having wont let me get into the BIOS to begin with.

Have the same issue (Asus M5A99FX). Asus had me RMA the mobo on the 13th. They should get it tomorrow. I will let you know what they say. It worked fine for 7 months. Then one day it stopped. Wouldn't post. Everything runs but no picture. Walked through troubleshooting with Asus tech and they set up an RMA ticket that day.
