What should i get xeon or i7 4770k

Hi Guys,

I am wanting to build a pc fairly soon and I need to chose between an Intel CPU Xeon E3-1245 v3 Quad Core Haswell Processor. Or an Intel Core i7 4790 Quad Core Processor Socket 1150 Retail with Heat Sink Fan. I am also going to get an gtx 970 SC. Im going to create server to play with my friends and play some games like battlefield 4 ultra and make youtube videos. What processor would be best for what I want.

If you aren't overclocking, the two will perform similarly in games (the i7 having a slight edge due to higher clock speed), so it depends on how much cheaper the xeon is and whether you're willing to sacrifice some performance to save money. If you are overclocking then the i7 4790k will be better.

Personally however, I would get a K version i5 instead of either for a gaming build.

I'm sorry, that's not an area I know much about, my guess is that either will handle running a server no problem (they are very high end chips) but I don't know for sure so I'd wait for someone else to answer.
