Get the 970. Great price/performance ratio, much more horsepower than the 770 and double the VRAM for loading higher res textures.

As far as ARMA goes, you probably won't get 60FPS. I love the game but it is an unoptimized piece of shit. And, that game relies more on CPU than anything so while upgrading to the 970 will make a difference, it won't make a HUGE difference.

well if oyu will have to get a new power supply for adding another 770
then might as well get the 980/970 ( your title and description list different cards)
its going to cost you more or less the same if you get a quality psu

and its another feeling to have a flagship GPU

550W should be just enough for a single GTX 970 but certainly not for a GTX 770 SLI. By the way the brand of the PSU really matters since a high wattage rating in a crappy PSU makes for a really bad combination.

I upgraded from a 770 to an EVGA GTX 970 SC and I get a noticeable increase in performance. What my strategy is now is buy the newest x70 in the Nvidia series, sell off the old one to one of my buddies, and then I'm realistically spending 100-150 bucks on a new card each year. It's worth it.

As a note, you won't get 60 fps in Arma 3 multiplayer (unless it's a low pop server). Not to mention the game is more cpu intensive anyway. It's simply due to the fact that you're constantly pinging other players in the server and many things are being updated in real time on the client side rather than the server side. Also, the graphics are amazing so it's harder to run.
