I am planning to build my own PC after some problems with Alienware.

The main aim is having a silent PC with enough power when it is needed.
So an asus strix gtx 970 and a main board with hybrid cooling sounds good to me.

Being not a hardware geek i build something like attached.
Any commend is appreciated also suggestions are highly welcome.

* Corsair 240 PC Case
* Intel i7-4790 Core Prozessor (3.6 GHz, Sockel 1150, 8M Cache, 84Watt
* be quiet! BK019 Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU-Kühlercooler

* ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 970 OC 4096MB GDDR5 256bit
* Asus ROG Maximus VII Formula 90MB0J31-M0EAY0 Mainboard
* Corsair Vengeance Schwarz 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

* Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 interne Festplatte 2TB
* Corsair RM Series 450Watt Voll Modular 80 PLUS Gold ATX/EPS

Solution
The motherboard has nothing to do with the GPU selection.

For your uses, I would get a cheaper GPU, the 970 is a waste.

Keep the i7, but get an h97 motherboard because you aren't overclocking.

I am not interested in gaming at least for the moment, so I4790 looks good to me.
and the motherboard choice was due to the hybrid cooking thet advertised. maybe i fell into the advertisement pit :)
Regarding cooler i may stick with the intel cooler if its low sound my criteria is having a silent pc while working

power, multitasking some software for 3d viewing and even scientific computing is the reason for CPU but if an i5 4790 does the same job i can change it. As i said i am not a hardware guy. i buy stuff in every 5 years :)

Regarding ATX motherboard , yes i have just canges the case to a smaller one from a540 to 240 i guess without changing the motherboard.
But the real question is then what motherboard to get with gtx 970?
