Hi all

My computer has had parts upgraded from over the past 8 years and I feel it's time I drop money to replace the whole thing. I still have the original hard drive from almost 10 years ago( a whopping 200GB! )

I haven't been in the loop with what hardware is best these days but I have built friends' PC's so I still have that, at least. :)

I'm not looking for top-of-the-line but I don't need welfare options either. Here is my current PC setup and it is not performing well.

PSU - corsair 750w
MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics
RAM - CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M2A1333C9
GPU - dinky GPU( don't know the name, it was a very cheap card)

I've bought the PSU/MOBO/CPU/GPU in 2011.

I just want to make sure the pieces 'mesh' well together since one of my friends' MOBO and RAM didn't work well together and could only use one of the sticks or else the computer wouldn't turn on fully.

Edit: Forgot to mention what this is for :) Mostly gaming, and multi tasking with many programs open for work

Edit2: I suppose I should state the case I have is probably 10 years old too, the one i originally bought(NZXT GAMMA Classic Series GAMA-001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case) the power cord snapped off it and the MOBO I have doesn't have a power button so I was forced to scrap that case. If all I need is a nice GPU and an SSD, I believe the expensive GPU are huge so I will need an appropriate case
