I built my own rig about a year ago and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card. Right now I currently have a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850. I didn't do enough research for my video when I was about to purchase it. I don't do a lot of gaming but I do occasionally, I mostly do video editing. I use After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and all that. I want to switch to Nvidia because of CUDA. I know ATI cards don't have CUDA and such. So basically what I'm asking is what is a good Nvidia card that is a all around good card around $250. I'm also looking to run SLI after I buy this new one.

My current card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004

Solution
get a gtx 760 or a 770.. they are the min requirements for a decent gaming right now on nvidias side and have enough cuda cores to give you decent rendering..

I was going to recommend AMD then i finished reading your post and now feel you should choose the 760. If you shop around you can get a GTX 760 4GB for $200-$229. I am not too familiar with Cuda itself i had a GTX 770 for the month of July that had issues so i sent it back and sitting on the Gift cards till the R9 39x series drops with HBm and 20nm for the best GPU efficiency to date. One question though, does GCN and CUDA compare?

I don't know a lot about the two of them but from what I've read CUDA enables things such as ray-tracing in after affects and I believe in photoshop it will allow photoshop to use CUDA cores to make the software run more efficient under heavy work loads. But don't correct me on the photoshop one hah. But thank you! I've been looking at that card actually.

I've been looking at those cards, but I've heard that cards like the gtx 680 have faster speeds. Is that true?
