Hello,

I searched the internet high and low to find whats wrong with my PC.
Everytime I play a games like Anno 1404, Anno 2070, Defiance, Borderlands, Path of Exile, etc. after a while my screen freezes and there is a sound that repeats itself. I can't go to task manager or nothing, I have to restart the PC manually. There are a few games that dont freeze like League of Legends or StartCraft II, but mostly they freeze.

I would like to know if there are programs that can help me test my components and see which one is the faulty one.

GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC 1GB DDR5 256-bit
RAM: TeamGroup Elite 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9
Motherboard: MSI P67A-C45 B3
Proc: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz box - Sandy Bridge
Seagate 500GB SATA-II 7200 rpm 16MB SpinPoint F3
Recom Pro Engine A600

If your computer does not crash from that, my guess, its the graphics card. Have you checked the temps while playing games? It may be getting too hot and crashing. Another issue is often driver issues. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Memtest for testing the RAM, seagate has Seatools for testing the hard drive.

Motherboard vendor may have some tests for it as well, in the BIOS or with a utility.

CPU you can run Prime95, that will also use RAM.

Video Card you can test just by loading it up with a benchmark like 3DMark.

You can also swap components for known good ones and test yours in another system.

From what is going on, it's likely the video card. Maybe the power supply, maybe RAM.

Without parts to swap in to try will be a lot harder to figure things out. If the video test fails, it could be the video card or could be the power supply, maybe even RAM or something with the PCIe slot. That's why you need to either test the video card in another system or try another video card with the same power draw in yours to rule that out as the issue. If your card works fine in another system, you can then start looking at the other components.

I have tested another graphic card on my pc (Saphire Radeon HD 7770) and it seems that my PC doesnt freezes. It seems you guessed right.

Is there anyway I can repair my GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC 1GB DDR5 256-bit or send it somewhere to get repaired?

What model CPU you have does not matter. Your GTX 560 is a pretty good card, to match it you need to get a Radeon R7 260X or get an R9 270X to go up a bit in speeds. The 270X is a pretty good bargain.

What I usually do is go to www.newegg.com, find a card model I am looking for and sort by best review. Often though you end up with something high end and pricy at the top, you can then look at some comments especially about cooling and noise, stick with those that have 4 or 5 eggs, and pick from those. Of course if the top model is priced OK you can just get that.

Meh, I think I will try to buy something on Black Friday.

If I buy a Video Card with PCI 3 but I only have PCI Express x16 2.0 with how much will it work slower? Than on a normal PCI 3 ?
