I am planning on getting an i5 4690k, with a gtx 970 (might sli), with the asrock h97 performance, I am also using a corsair h100i for a cpu cooler.
Does anyone know what the power consumption is? I am currently on a 650w psu. Also if I overclock the cpu, what will the power consumption be then?

Well 1.051v is what my board detected and runs for stock, that's what i get at stock in windows even when using something like prime.
As for the OC, well i've just been lazy and not got...

Fully overclocked Haswell can hit about 150W. More if you like extreme voltages. You will want a Z97 motherboard for that rather then an H97. Those unlocked motherboards don't come with as many fine settings as the Z97 boards and may not be able to output that 150W reliably.

GTX970 is rated at 145W at stock. All of the versions out there take dual 6-pin (I think, might be one or two with a 8 and 6 pin, one of the small form factor ones uses a single 8pin) So plan for 225W per card to provide some overhead.

Something like an Corsair RM750 or XFX850 would be my pick for that setup.

As long as its a decent quality 650w psu it will be perfectly fine for that system even when overclocked.

My rig barely pulls 400w from the wall with both prime95 and unigine valley running at the same time.
4690k @ 4.1ghz 1.091v
R9 290 @ 1000/1250
Corsair AX760 psu.

Pairing a GTX970 with a 4690k, i'm going to guess, would pull around 300-350w from the wall at stock running both prime and valley at the same time, it would be much less while just gaming.

1.091 is below stock for most Haswell chips. And 4.1 Ghz is a pretty mild clock.
