Hello guys,

i'm looking for advice on my final build which i'll be ordering tomorrow, i have been post threads and researching this for a while but i think i'm finally ready now... I'll be mainly using this for gaming. I would like information on what would be overkill, any improvments which are a similar price range or any compatibility issues as im new to this. Also a recommendation on a good cpu cooler (not water) please :) Thanks

Solution
A fine build.
You will want a cooler.
I might suggest a noctua NH-D14 or D15

Or a Phanteks

If budget is an issue, a lesser Phanteks would be fine:

You have not listed ram.
8gb is usually all you need, but with your budget, I would go with 16gb in a 2 x 8gb kit. DDR3-1866 speed at 1.5v is all you need.
Buy only low profile ram so you have no clearance issues with an air cooler.
Corsair, G.skil, Kingston, patriot are all good.

You will need an os. a 64 bit version is needed to access more than 4gb of ram.

Do you need a dvd burner?

yes, i was thinking about the noctua NH-d15 but i wasn't sure if it'd fit in my case properly and be compatible with my ram...

ahh damn, i had chosen a ram but i must not have added it properly,

is this okay? i found this which said it'll be okay (http://www.gskill.com/marketing/tug.jpg)

I have windows 8.1 64bit and i don't need a dvd burner :)

That's the RAM I have, it's great. The heat spreaders can very easily be screwed off, turning it into low profile RAM so don't worry about cooler clearance. EDIT: Just noticed that's mentioned in the link you posted, my bad.
This RAM is also overkill, I have it only because it was only ~€20 more expensive than 1866 and 1600MHz. Don't overpay for it, if you can get quality 1600MHz RAM for a lot less I'd go with that. The performance difference is minimal.

Both the Noctua's that geofelt mentioned will fit in your case with room to spare. The case has room for 180mm while the NH-D14 is 160mm tall and the NH-D15 is 165mm tall.

i don't mind overspending a bit to get them, they look fantastic! Thank you for the help!

I know that should be enough but i don't mind paying the extra, thank you :)

On ram:
I bought the g.skil tridentX 2400 ram and wish I had not.
First, the heat spreaders are beautiful, but I had to remove one of them to clear a DH-14.
A waste.
Next 2400 ram is fine, but requires 1.65v. That can impact your overclocking.
Fast ram improves fps or app performance by something like 1%. Not much worth it.
I opted to run at 2400 and keep my i7-4790K at stock; I need no more.
If I were to do it again, I would buy 1.5v 1866 ram. G.skil ares is low profile.

I like 16gb. It is likely to help performance more than fast 8gb. Windows keeps code in ram in anticipation of reuse.
