I got an EVGA GTX 760 around 3 months ago, one RMA later and the card is working fine. Although some of the games I play like DayZ are still a laggy mess. I got Insurgency today from the Humble Bundle and it surprised me when I found out that it dips below 60, frequently, considering this is a source game that's pretty amazing.
I have some extra cash and I can always make some of it back by selling my old card, so I want to get a new GPU.
My budget is $350 and I'm stuck between a Zotac GTX 970 4GB for $330, and a Sapphire Tri-x R9 290x for $300.
I've never heard of Zotac before but it seems to have decent ratings on Newegg (4/5), I have had a Sapphire 7770 before and it's amazing and has never once failed on me so I have no problem with Sapphire.
My CPU is an fx-6300, I got 8 gigs of RAM, and a 550w Corsair 80 plus Bronze
On a sidenote, I don't think the fx-6300 will bottleneck either of these two but I could be wrong
