Hello,

I am trying to setup a NAS (based on FreeNAS) that can support up to 8TB (long term 32TB). I have purchased the following for the same:
Asus M5A 78L-M/USB3 motherboard
AMD 3.5 AM3+ FX 6-Core Edition FX-6300 CPU
Cooler Master HAF XB RC-902XB-KWN2 cabinet
Corsair VS650 650 Watt PSU
Kingston 8GB 1600Mhz KVR16LE11/8KF RAM

Unfortunately while setting up I realized that the PSU doesn't work well with the motherboard and so I am looking for a new one. I have narrowed down to Corsair CS 650M after researching a bit online.

Can someone please recommend a PSU that would work well with my system specs?

Kind regards,

Nitin

Any standard 400 watt PSU would be enough for your system i dont see any reason why is your current PSU not working the only reason that i see is the PSU has a manufacturing defect and its not working.

Online power supply calculator are not accurate you will find different results using different calculators plus they left you with plenty of headroom and there is no way a 600 watt is needed for your system and without a GPU the maximum the system will draw is around 200 watt at load.
