Hello gentleman, i am writing to hopefully find solution for my problem. I am a CSGO player and i am building a pc config that could give me good performance in a 5v5 play. Since CSGO is from what i have heard a cpu based game i need to choose between fx4170 and fx6300. I can get any of these easily and cheap so i am wondering if its better to have 4 core 4.2ghz fx4170 or 3.5ghz 6 core fx6300. I have also heard that Vishera CPUs also better for gaming than Bulldozer but aren't 4 core CPUs easier to overclock than 6 core ones? CSGO has an option for multi core rendering but what if it uses only, for example, 3 cores max? I am not an expert when it comes to these touchy things. This community already helped me a lot and i appreciate it very much. Greets!

Stay away from Bulldozer CPUs, they are terrible.
The 6300 FX is a solid low cost pick.
A good alternative is an I3, they perform better in most games, especially games that are optimized for only 1 or 2 cores, which is almost always the case.

Take the FX 6300, it'll provide much higher performance than the other CPU in every game, no exceptions.
