Breadboard setup with only CPU and PSU, starts up, shuts down after a few seconds and repeats.

So, I bought a new mobo and CPU for my rig.
After I installed it all into my case, I try to start up my PC, but it shuts down after few seconds, showing only the BIOS screen most of the time.

I decided to breadboard, to see where the problems are, which I saw was a good idea on a troubleshooting list.

First, i breadboarded the new stuff, only CPU, mobo and (older) PSU. It did exactly the same thing, start up and shut down after a few seconds.

I then breadboarded my old CPU and mobo, and they worked fine. So my PSU is fine.
The beep code i get is the one that says I have no memory inserted (which is correct).

Did i install something wrong, or did something break? I have no idea what the problem is.
Thanks already

Specs:
CPU: i5-4690k
Mobo: Gigabyte Z87X
PSU: Corsair CX-750M

Solution
Hi

I hope you had the cpu heat sink and fan connected?
Also I stick of ram in different slots

Try a different psu which is known working
Without a graphics PCI-e card you don't need a powerfull psu 300w or more would do

Check you have all jumpers in default position
Clear CMOS jumper in wrong position can cause problems or damage motherboard

Then you are down to cpu or motherboard is faulty
You need access to spare parts to get any further
