Hi,

I have build my little ITX gaming rig. I did a bit research that 100% sure this board can over clock and someone did it. but i cant figure out why.

i have set the multiplier to 40 or any more than 32 the bios confirms that speed "Target CPU frequency 4000MHz" but as soon as booted up the CPUZ just stayed at 3.2GHz.

checked under load of course.

I have checked voltage is ok 1.3V for core CPU input as 1.9V and other all on auto.
the DIGi VRM is all set to maxim (no restriction on current or watts). speed step is set to disable.

What Have I missed? please help. A big thanks in advance!

it seems there is no such option as disable turbo or not. I have another board asus maximum 4 gene with 3570k.(which has).

the place to change multiplier (sync all cores, i tested underclock, under volt, all works) and on the right hand side it say changes the maximum turbo limit.

thanks for reply!

what do you mean by external OS? i tested with cpuz with intelburntest. also monitoring with hwmornitor. I used prime seems less stressful than intelburntest, for some reason. also i run hyper pi and logs just to confirm actual oc does speedup my pc.

Thanks for reply anyway!

glad to inform you all that i have solved the problem. It requires an bios update. the old bios shows instead of "no option" it shows "option" but which wont work.
And to over clock this, simply set the your multiplier in the "sync all core" and leave the "turbo mode" enabled in the cpu management.
suggest that core voltage should be manual and monitor temperature closely!

im running 4,4ghz right now with asus h81i plus with latest bios (2304) temps are below 70 but my cooler kinda sucks so... vcore is 1.230 and everything is stable. i used core ratio only not cache ratio... cache is set to auto. just wanted everyone to know that this mobo really CAN overclock g3258 and these parts are cheap :p

uplink-svk - that is great to hear mate! :) just remember to get some cooler, that can blow air to cpu's vrm's/mosfet's, otherwise You may damage Your motherboard in time, since it has no cpu vrm/mosfet cooling whatsoever.

What case do You have? I recommend Rajintek Pallas, if that whouldn't fit, at least Noctua L9i, or L12i. Though, Pallas is better choice for Your motherboard.

im using scythe kozuti with one extra fan on top of it both running 100%(terrible noise!) but thats because im overclockin and testing to find max clocks. im gonna buy better cooler someday.

im not using any case at the moment.... components are sitting on the table nicely :D (better cooling ofcourse) but someday im gonna craft or buy some nice minicase...
