Ok, so my mothers computer (Hp Slimline s5000 series) started showing signs of being infected. It ended up being a lot worse than I expected, the computer would boot to windows than most of the time explorer would crash. We were able to backup her personal files, and I just planned on wiping the hard drive and partitioning it with my own rig. I am a Comp. Ed. student and get a free copy of Windows 7 Pro through Dreamspark, so I planned on downloading it on my pc and then use a virtual drive to run the setup and install windows on the new partition I created on her hard drive, the install finished and Windows booted on my pc through her hard drive. So far I had no problems, until I installed the hard drive back into her pc and it wont boot. The bios detects the HD as the prim. boot drive, but it wont boot. Any thoughts?

Right.
It really needs to be installed on the drive, in the PC where it will live.
Installing the OS on one PC, and then moving that drive to another PC, often does not work.Sometimes yes, sometimes no. You have found the latter.

Solution?
Put the target drive in the PC where it will live. Install the OS.

I assumed that was the problem, so I put her computer back together and inserted the windows 7 installation disk and it starts to load the windows files than I get 'Unexpected I/O error 0xc00000e9'. I know the disk drive is good, and the hard drive boot in my computer so I don't think its a hard drive problem.
