I can not decide whether to get a second 770 or a single 980 card. I ran a "test" on game debate seeing the percentage for how well these cards perform for battlefield hardline and the 2x 770s were %246 and the 980 was %215
770 i already have: http://
I have the 4gb version but for some reason the option to select the 4gb isnt there
980 i would get: http://

on a different note, if i get the 980 can I use the 770 to run another monitor to game on 3 screens on bf4

Solution
Usually the best thing to do is get the most powerful and efficient card at the time, but because you already have a 770 you should just add another. Assuming you already have the PSU capacity and motherboard to handle it.

What resolution are you planning on playing at? Edit: Two cards in SLI is really where you should be when using multiple monitors because you lose value as far as price to performance goes because the cards won't scale much after you pass two in SLI

well with the 980 i would plan on up-scaling (or whatever its called) to 4k with that new feature of its but right now i'm playing 1080p

Do you want to use NVIDIA surround with 4K on 3 1080p monitors? Or are you buying 3 4K monitors?

Well, NVIDIA surround just uses the three monitors and sections out your point of view, so it will literally be 3 1080p monitors surrounding you with the game, but the cards might struggle playing Battlefield 4 at ultra or high settings.

one last thing, if i get the 980 cant i also have the 770 run whatever is on one monitor by plugging that monitor to the card to relieve some stress of the 980?

The only way it could help in that regard is to section off Physx to the 770. You'd see pretty modest gains on those games that support it (maybe 5-10FPS depending on a bunch of factors), but that's about it.
