Hey there,
I know HDD vs SSD may be one of the longest forums battles, but I'm short of money and I really don't know what to do.

My HDD is failing and I need to replace it because blue screens are driving me crazy. Thing is actually I have a 500GB Toshiba, which limits my storage a lot, that's why I'm using a 2TB portable drive.
Anyway, I was thinking to replace it and the WD Black 2TB has some nice reviews, but on the other side, I have the SSDs that would be really useful for my rig (gaming purposes only).
THING IS, again, I don't have money to afford a SSD. Samsung 250GB SSD has the same price as the WD Black 2TB. Can't afford to buy a 1TB one, and I can't afford to buy the SSD and the HDD.

What should I do? =(
All this time I was using the Toshiba one and I don't really notice slow speed or something.

If you can afford a 2TB WD Black, which is $150:http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd2002faex
you can easily afford a 240Gb SSD + 1TB HDD for the same price: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

SSDs also help for load times between levels in games. It used to take me 2 or 3 minutes to load up BF4 when starting a match or changing maps. Now, with an SSD, it takes less than 30 seconds.

It's $121 with shipping on Amazon > http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00FJRS628/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

I can only buy in sites that allows international credit cards from outside US, because I'm not from US.
I would say my top price would be $120, I can't spend more than that.

I'm with Alfrodo: though I think you might need a 128GB SSD.
$70 Crucial MX100 128GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148819&cm_re=crucial_mx100-_-20-148-819-_-Product
$85 Seagate 7200rpm: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Cheapest WD Black I can find is $135. So the above option is an extra $20. But you could save further by going down to a Green drive (I'd still personally take an SSD + Green drive in a heartbeat over a Black only).

SSDs make so much difference to the subjective 'feel' of the computer. It's night and day. But there's a reason that just about everyone who's used a computer with an SSD will tell you they'll never build a mechanical HDD only computer again.

Newegg doesn't allow non-US credit cards :(
Has some good prices though :((((

Anyway, I'll look around on Black Friday and Christmas, maybe Amazon launches good prices in SSD and that stuff.

^This.

Plus, it's far more difficult to buy a HDD and then have to reinstall the OS and all applications later to an SSD versus starting with the SSD and adding an HDD later. I guarantee Amazon will have SSDs on sale for black Friday and/or Christmas.

You really convince me guys :(

So, recommend me nice and cheap SSD and HDD combo.
Seagate Barracuda and Crucial MX100 128GB would be one.

Though, honestly, if I were you, I would get this:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $119.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-11-14 23:38 EST-0500

And use your 2 TB external for documents, pictures, videos, etc. and then later on, add another HDD such as the Seagate. It's nice to have plenty of room on the SSD for the OS, several games, and crucial applications, without having to worry about running out of space.
