Does it matter which slots I put my ram (4GBx2) in?

I have a ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 and the instructions recommend that the ram should be inserted into the grey slots, but I already put them in the black slots. Would it matter/cause a problem? Thank you!

if you look at the mb and mb guild the main ram channels are a0 and b0. the secondary channels are a1 and b1. as long as the ram sticks are in a and b slot your fine.

As long as you use the same colored slots it puts the ram in dual channel mode and therefore won't have any impact on performance.

Set them as per instructions.
Primary slots COULD work a lil better.
