Overclocking problem with EVGA GTX780 SC

I have a problem when overclocking my GPU (EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX). The game suddenly stops working.

(Assassin's creed Unity crashes only when I go to specific menu. Otherwise it stops working after a while). Different CoreClock/MemoryClock results in the same thing.

I tried 3DMark and and I finished the test without problems.

I noticed this in MSI Afterburner as soon as the game crashes

you can see in the Hardware Monitor exactly when the game crashes.

What could that mean?
Any help will be a appreciated.

Solution
Is this only in Assassins creed unity? Ive seen many pc player having a wide array of problems with that game. I haven't got hands on it myself.

The best advice I can give is see if it crashes on other games.
If not update your Nvidia drivers, they just released a new version for Assassins creed.

If neither of these work you may have to play the game on stock settings on your clock,
but the game has many faults that both The developer and AMD/Nvidia are trying to fix.

-good luck

edit: also by the graphs it seems like the gpu just did that because the game crashed and there were no frames to render, possibly a freeze in the game caused power to go up as it still rendered the frozen image, and then it crashed (just a theory)

I had this problem in a couple of other games. I want to make sure that the card is not defective.

Some games would run for 10-30 min and then crash, some for only 5 min, and some games when I go to a specific location or a menu. I don't get it. I tried to find a good overclock settings but it seems like nothing works for along time of playing.

Does it have these problems without an overclock?
If it still crashes without the overclocked boost clock then I would go to say it's defective and I would RMA it.

Also another option is you could have defective drivers too. Completely uninstall them and reinstall the newest version. See if that fixes it too.

I don't recall it crashed with the default settings.
Now I like the sound of "RMA it" even though I don't know what it means :D.
Would it help? Do you recommend it?

I will see to it that I have a clean drivers when I can.

Another thing, could it be from the Power Supply? I have a Cool-Max 950W since about 5 years now. Maybe the card is not getting a stable/good power from it? I don't have a lot of hardware.

Let me know what you think.
Thank you.

RMA is switching the card for a new card, possibly without any problems.
If you can try a friends psu? and see if that fixes some of the problems.

Another reason is your card may be a very terrible overclocker although that's highly unlikely.
You can RMA it if you can prove that there is a problem with your card, saying it can't overclock won't work sadly.

Unfortunately this problem goes for other games as well... Tomb Raider, AC Black Flag, Watch Dogs, and a couple more.

I know AC Unity is just out but it's the same Overclocking problem as the other games.

I guess I can't RMA the card. I will try to find another PSU and overclock the card.
I will keep looking for a solution.

Thank you.
