I did a clean install of windows on my ssd samsung 840 evo.

It is extremely fast , but sometimes it asks me to boot into proper device and sometimes it boots into windows normally.

But when i unplug the hdd i wont be able to boot into the ssd. Windows is only installed on the ssd so i dont know whats causing the problem.

Also when im in the windows and i open the side of my case and unplug the hdd it still keeps working as it should be.

Solution
Some of the files were placed on your hard drive instead of a secondary (100MB) partition on the SSD.
This happens often.

Next time unplug your HDD when installing Windows to ensure all files are on the SSD.

And in future, DO NOT unplug your HDD from SATA or power while the system is running. Asking for trouble. :)

But that was the only way i could run the windows on ssd without the HDD connected as it was sometimes slowing down my loading speeds in games. I unplugged it and its back to blazing fast.

Then clearly something is not right with your windows installation.

Okay. So when i make a clean new install of windows on an ssd i need to unplug the HDD first so that no files spread to the HDD,right ?
