Can i upgrade to a Radeon R9 290 graphics card?

Hi,

Im wanting to upgrade my graphics card for gaming, wondering if i would be able to with these specs:
Wanting to upgrade to a Radeon R9 290.

Current GPU: GeForce GTX 560
Current CPU: Intel core i7-3770 @ 3.40Ghz
Current Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77P-D3
Current PSU:Raidmax RX-630SS 630W

If theres any other graphics card which might be better please comment too, my price range is around £300

Yes you can but the Raidmax PSU is at the bottom of the barrel quality wise and should be replaced sooner rather than later!

it says that it requires 750w though I wouldn't rely on that but
in my opinion gtx 970 will be the best choice

Your case holds GPUs up to 295mm. How long are the 290s?

I'm not sure about your PSU. If it's this one I wouldn't put the 290 in there.

The 290 runs up to 300W, which is probably more then half of your 12V power. Your power draw would be around 425W, and I don't see that PSU lasting long putting out that kind of power.

Yes, but that PSU is MASSIVE overkill for that GPU.

Go for seasonic, xfx or certain corsair PSUs. The xfx black edition PSUs are great and normally not too bad on price. Any seasonic will be good. They really don't make a bad one. And for corsair I would get an RM or better PSU. AX or AXI are really good. The new HXI are supposed to be great as well
