8gb 1066MHz vs 4gb 1600MHz

Hi guys, i have a question, googled it, but could not find the answer, what' s faster in a laptop 8gb 1066MHz or 4gb 1600MHz.

depends, what are you doing with it? do you need 8GB of ram, or do you need fast ram?
and what is the rest of the system?

its a i5 cpu 2,5ghz with grapics on it, normal hd, windows 8.1, and thanks for taking time to answer me

Well, the 4GB of RAM is going to be a bottleneck before the speed will. If those are your only 2 options, go with more RAM capacity.

The speed does play a small role in gaming performance (assume we're talking mostly about gaming?) so if you can, try to grab a 1600 8GB kit.

Yeah, student budget, just trying to build the best laptop with the things i have, so 4gb 1600 or 8gb 1066 (might even be 16gb 1066)
