Glitchy sound after changing graphics cards

I recently got two NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO 512s (SLI enabled) as a slight upgrade from my old GeForce 9400 GT but now the sound on my computer is glitchy. I get lots of pops and crackles whenever I try to watch any video in Media Player Classic or even VLC (which I use for anime and movies). Games and anything run on Windows Media Player seems to be fine though.
I tried asking for a solution on the Media Player Classic forums but all I got was the normal response of "update your graphics drivers" which didn't help. I've tried flipping the cards around, using a single card, using a sound card, installing other codecs but I can't find a solution so any help would be appreciated.

My other specs are basically:
EVGA NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard,
Intel Pentium D CPU 3.40GHz,
8 GBs RAM,
Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1) x64

The sound card I tried and removed was a Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! Pro USB sound card. It didn't do much except amplify the pops in my ears which was not a pleasant experience.

So now I notice a bit of the similar problem when listening to music, if only slightly.
I tried disabling HD Audio in my bios and relying on the USB sound card but that hasn't fixed anything.
I still have no clue how to fix this and while I've seen others with a similar problem, it doesn't seem like anyone else has given a solution.

I couldn't figure it out so I just put my old card back in and now the audio is back to normal. I'm just going to assume those newer cards are broken and I'll just buy better cards later.
