Hello Experts,

Can I get a critique on this gaming rig that I want to build in the near future? I am trying to go for a red/black theme and might be doing some video editing in the future so I would like to account for that as well.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i (Purchased)
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased)
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM (Purchased)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX [SLI in the future]
Case: Corsair 760T Black
Power Supply: Corsair AX860W 80+ Platinum Certified
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (OEM) (64-bit) (Purchased)

Overall Budget: Preferably south of $2,000. But if I can save money..that is always good.

I am always open to suggestions and alternate parts(except for the ones already bought of course!!).

Much Appreciated.

Only things I'd suggest:

1. Corsair AXi are excellent units, the EVGA G2 / P2 series should also be under consideration.

2. Maximus motherboard is quite a bit overkill, you can get one for like $50 - $60 less and still get the same usage out of it.

3. I'd go with the MSI TwinFROZR or the EVGA ACX cards over the Asus model.

4. If you want to go with a red / black theme I'd suggest looking at the NZXT H440 red / black...

g-unit I just realized you changed your picture from a while ago (now I forgot what it was before)

@OP: Like he said it looks pretty good so far, the ssd config is a little weird. I'd also recommend 2x4gb for now, if you want later you can add another 2x4gb, as long as you don't plan on needing 32gb.

Sorry for not clarifying. I am hoping to not go over $2,000 but it doesn't mean I absolutely have to go cheaper. Regarding the multiple SSDs, I made an impulse buy on the MX100 but nothing more than that(its probably going to be the boot drive and them-some). That MX100 doesn't need to be factored in the $2,000.
